Rooted in God's Word

We believe the Bible is the Word of God inspired by the Spirit of God, without error in the original writings. It alone reveals God’s will for the salvation of mankind and serves as the final authority for all Christian faith and practice (John 5:39; Luke 24:27, 44; 1 Cor. 2:13; 2 Tim. 3:16–17; 2 Pet. 1:21).

We believe in one God, Creator of all things, existing eternally as three infinitely perfect, distinct persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit (Matt. 28:18–19; Mark 12:29; John 1:14; Acts 5:3–4; Heb. 1:1–3; Rev. 1:4–6).

We believe God has revealed His desire to be known as Father through His Son Jesus Christ. Driven by love and grace the Father sent His Son to bear the just punishment for humanity’s sin so that mankind could be made right with God (Isa. 64:8; John 1:14; Eph. 1:3, 4:6; 1 Cor. 8:6; Heb. 1:1–3).

We believe that Jesus Christ is the one and only begotten Son of God, fully God and fully man. The eternal Son took on flesh when He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He lived a sinless life, performed miracles and, in fulfillment of Scriptural prophecies, died on the cross as a substitutionary atonement for the sins of humanity. Three days later He was bodily resurrected from the dead. He ascended into Heaven where He sits at the right hand of the Father, serving as the believer’s Advocate with the Father. He will one day return in power and glory to justly reign and make all things new (Isa. 7:14; Luke 1:30–35; John 1:1–4, 14, 18; Rom. 3:25–26; Phil 2:5–8; 2 Cor. 5:14–21; Heb. 10:5–14; 1 Pet. 3:18; Rev. 21:1–5).

We believe the Holy Spirit lives to glorify Jesus the Son. He convicts mankind of sin, gives new life to believing sinners, indwells, guides and empowers followers of Christ for Godly lives and fruitful service (John 3:5–8, 14:8–17, 26, 16:12–15; Rom. 8:11; 1 Cor. 12:13; Titus 3:5).

We believe mankind is created in the image of God, male and female, giving them intrinsic value and dignity. As image bearers, all men and women represent God in His creation. Adam and Eve were made to complement each other in a one-flesh union in the covenant of marriage that establishes the only God-ordained pattern of sexual relations for men and women. In God’s wise purposes, men and women are not simply interchangeable, but rather they complement each other in mutually enriching ways (Gen. 1:26–27, 2:17–24; Ps. 139:14–16; Matt. 19:4–6; Eph. 5:22–25, 31–32; Heb. 13:4).

We believe that sin has fractured all things, leaving the world in need of salvation. The first couple, Adam and Eve, were tempted by Satan and fell into sin, separating them from God. Now the entire human race has inherited a corrupt sin nature that falls short of the glory of God. Without God’s intervention humanity faces eternal separation from God (Gen. 3; Ps. 14:1–4, 51:5; Jer. 17:9; Rom. 3:9–20; Eph. 2:1–3; 1 John 3:4–8).

We believe that the global Church is composed of all who have received Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and follow Him by faith. The local church serves as an expression of the global Church. The purpose of the Church is to glorify God by growing fruitful disciples and proclaiming the saving Gospel of Jesus Christ both locally and globally (Isa. 28:6; Matt. 28:18–20; 1 Cor. 12:12–31; Eph. 2:19–21, 3:21, 4:12; Col. 1:28).
